It’s Time to Gear Up for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28th!

If you think Small Business Saturday is important to businesses like Verde, you are right! Small Biz Saturday is the Saturday after Thanksgiving, situated right between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, two of the largest consumer days that tend to benefit large corporations & manufacturers most.

In 2020, a year that has already brought on unprecedented challenges and grief for many, where shops and stores have had to close their doors, we hope you’ll consider what an impact you can have by choosing conscience over corporations.

During the Covid-19 pandemic over 20% of small businesses have been forced to close their doors, while global corporations like Walmart and Amazon continue to grow their profit margins. This year, your dollars count more than maybe ever before, as we continue to feel the impacts of closures and restrictions to keep everyone safe. This year we can speak with our dollars and remind small businesses, who hire 70% of our economy’s employees, that they matter. When you support a small business you support families, you support someone’s dreams, and help promote economic growth and sustainability close to home. Do you know that small businesses are actually taxed more heavily than corporations? We are!

To small, independent, minority-owned businesses like ours, Small Business Saturday is one of the most important days of the year! It is only with the support of clients, conscious consumers and supporters like you that are we able to continue to make our mission possible. Shopping at Verde means that you are supporting our team of massage therapists, healing practitioners, educators, coaches, and administrative support. Each of them has been uniquely called to their expertise and profession, and what links us is a common thread--a desire to contribute to the well-being of others through healing traditions.

Small Business Saturday is a celebration of all things that make our studio special. From the welcoming, serene, and clean environment our studio offers, to our diverse team and our curated menu of offerings, to workshops, classes, and handmade products, nothing could say “shop” more earnestly. It’s easy, fun and we hope you can find something for all of your loved ones!

When you purchase from a small business--an actual person does a little happy dance! Think about the moment of joy that sparks when a practitioner sees your name on their schedule, when you sign up to participate in someone’s class or workshop, or when the maker of a product hears what a difference it’s made for you when you tried it. Those moments are the ones that create the ripple effect of change that will continue to make our world a better place for all.
